The Road Taken

Yah! the famous poem which i had studied in Pre-degree. There are many in my class who followed the path of Java,.Net etc but i clunged on to Linux. For me there were 2 roads to be chosen. One to the ugly world of windows where you could see some of the lazy programmers in .Net. And the other one to be in the glamorous world of Linux. These moments make me remind of the movie "The Da Vinci Code". Yah i asked my teacher "Teacher what should i do to get such and such..."(The questions continued). He gave a gentle smile and then showed me the path. Yah to the most respectable man, as a friend, as a teacher, as aguide etc etc. The only student from my batch to work in Linux(Its none other than me). I hoped at least there would be 3 or 4 who would work in Linux. That was the situation with me. After completing the B.Tech degree i went to Bangalore(as usual for a software proffesional) where i had a bad impact on my resume. I asked a referal to an IBM guy he told me "Your resume looks to be good but i cant help you because you dont have experince". But that was the first moment when i felt that it was a good resume. Not in the sense of the decorative work on the resume. But for the quality of the languages that i had written. Many of the Banglorian professionals dont know the relevance of a "cutting edge" language like LISP. How sad its for an Engineer to say that its a bore language with out getting into it? Huhhh and the claps for the .Net where one have to drag and write some 10 line code. What will happen if the mouse is not working. The software proffesional would stop his work. Oh god please dont push me in to the Dump Windows market. I beg. I may not get the salary that the others are earning. But i may get one and only one thing that's necessary for a software professional: Professional Satisfaction. Still my job hunt continues....

Do you think the road taken by me was correct....
Do you think so ....

God God...

It was yesterday morning. I called my "Guru". He was little busy. Though he always was. But he was ready to spent a few time in phone with me. And then as usual i asked him about my juniors etc etc.. There was nothing special for me at that time. Now he asked me "Sujith ninakku shwaasam muttunnundo avide?". I told him ya. Because i am not intrested in the php work. And then he asked me "Are u ready to work with me?". I was surprised and replied "yah yah". In the same day, evening, my PL told me that my service will be terminated this month. I wasn't shocked. Why? Who gave me the real boost to resist. I would thank to god for opening another door for me. And then could u imagine how happy i am to work in 'C'. No one will understand. Am not a hi-fi in 'C'. But still my confidence is not lost. Oh god this time u showered a little next time shall i expect a heavy rain. "Ente mansamaadhaanathinu". Do u think i am here for the first time. NOOOO.... Am here for the second time. And after almost all of my class mates got placed am still in search of job. Job hunting had made me realized a say in malayalam: "Poi chakka iduka"(means dropping the jackfruit). Thats all for now. Am waiting to write a good article after getting a "settled job".

Yet Another Get Together

Yah last week end was supposed to be one of the most intresting week end for me. Since we(Nikhil,Reju and Hareesh) are uniting for the first time after the college life. And what to tell.We made a plan to have a movie "The Da Vinci Code". Saw the first show from sreedhar in Kochin. And you could see Reju's eyes going wider. Thats natural when us see a dusky dumsel.
And me,after living in Trivandrum(without Nikhil), never mind them. We came back to home after
the great dinner, after a long time am having it. And then the next day was again the time for
"Kazha". And Reju told suji had came to kochin. So we should celebrate. And Nikhil brought
2 bottle of Romanov. And now everyone started to remind their old college life. Some of them
even cried(including me). Our old "set up". Some of them were sure about their marriage, but...
Really a nostalgic day. Mahadev who was employed in sify told that "Aliyaa innu router down aayaal
enikku pullaaa". The beautiful day in my life. Not for having Romanov. But for several others.
Nikhil my best friend was little sentimental when i was back to Trivandrum the next day.
"Oru koottukaarante manassu mattoru koottukaarane ariyoo". Nikhil even told "if suji had
got in HCL....". When will be the next get together? Hope it may continue even after the marriage.

After the college is what we find the value of our friends. They were really close to your heart.
